Banned, removed, or leaving
Straight answers: what gets an account pulled, how to fight it, and what happens to your stuff. A person reads every appeal. Not a bot, not a form letter. This page says the same things as the equivalent screen in the app.
What gets an account banned
Lying about who you are
Someone else’s photos, a fake name, a fake age. If the person who shows up isn’t the person in the profile, that’s the end of the account.
Harassment
Threats, abuse, slurs, or not taking no for an answer — in chat or after you’ve met.
Anything involving minors
Anyone under 18, in any form. This one is permanent and it goes to law enforcement.
Asking people off the app
Snap, Insta, WhatsApp, a phone number in your profile or your first message. It’s how scammers work, so we don’t allow it.
Threats or violence
Toward another member, toward our team, toward anyone.
Catfishing
Showing up as a different person, or years and a lot of miles off what your photos said.
Some of it is caught automatically — a phone number or a Snap handle in your profile trips a filter on the spot. Automation makes mistakes. That’s what the appeal is for.
How to appeal
Email dev@pappasproductions.com and put three things in it:
- The phone number on the account — that’s how we find you.
- What happened, in your own words. Be specific, and don’t polish it.
- Anything that shows the report was wrong: screenshots, dates, the name of the person who reported you if you know it.
A human reviews it and answers by email. If you can still open the app, you can file the same appeal straight from the banned screen instead — it reaches the same queue. One open appeal per account; sending it twice doesn’t move it up.
Your data while a ban stands
- Your profile comes out of Discover immediately. Nobody new can see you or match with you.
- Your matches and messages stay on our servers while the ban stands, because an appeal can’t be reviewed without them.
- We keep your phone number and photo fingerprints so a banned account can’t just start over. That’s the point of a ban.
And after
- Appeal approved: everything comes back exactly as it was. Same profile, same matches, same threads.
- Appeal denied: your profile and photos are deleted. The ban record — the phone number and photo fingerprints — stays, so the account can’t be remade.
If you delete your own account
Settings › Delete account. It’s permanent, it’s not an appeal, and it takes this with it:
- Your profile and every answer on it
- Every photo and voice prompt you uploaded
- Your matches, and the messages in them
- Your likes, your Worthys, and your filters
The people you matched with lose the thread too. What we keep afterward is the bare minimum the law makes us keep, and a record of any safety report filed against you — deleting an account has never been a way to wipe one. You can export a copy of your data first.
